The training course is lead by leading practitioner Andrea Williams, who brings a wealth of knowledge, years of experience and a high level of professionalism to create the ideal teaching environment to bring new talent into the SMP industry.

The course offers trainees a face to face environment where they will learn the core fundamentals of Scalp Micropigmentation and develop the skills required to go away and be able to carry out the treatment with confidence.

Scalp Micropigmentation Training

Course Structure

We offer a 3 day or 4 day training course which is a mixture of theory, practical, multiple choice assessment and observation. There is a requirement to complete 3 cases studies upon completion of the course in order to be awarded a fully CPD accredited certificate.

Full supervision will be provided for all practical work carried out during the course and we offer a reassured mentoring package (optional) which can provide trainees with valuable ongoing support upon course completion.

The course will take place both in our clinic and designated training room using a range of learning styles. Trainees will be expected to work on a live model with encouragement to source their own model prior to commencement of the course (however not essential), who can then be used as one of their case studies.

Each day will be broken day into clearly defined learning objectives involving a mixture of theory and practical work and will end with a multiple choice assessment to test the trainees understanding. These assessments will form part of the overall qualification.

What you get?

Trainees will receive a comprehensive training manual, a starter kit which includes a practice pad, white Hairline wax pencil, needles, flexible ruler, pigment pots, gloves and an SMP needle.

Trainees will also get the opportunity to try out different SMP hand pieces and the option to purchase a power pack and hand piece or to complete the course and then source their own.

Optional extras:

We believe that training in SMP involves so much more than the initial 3-4 day training course so offer a 6 month mentoring program where support is given through The Scalp Clinic or the trainee’s clinic.

This mentoring program aims to provide support and guidance to trainees by answering questions and overseeing treatments to help develop the trainees confidence and make sure treatments are completed to a high standard.

Course availability

At The Scalp Clinic we believe our trainees benefit from small group learning and therefore limit course capacity to four trainees at any one time. We also offer individual one to one training if requested.

Master Classes

For those trainees who have already undergone some SMP training and want to advance their skills, we also offer one day Master classes in Hair line Design and Scar Coverage.
